1. Who this policy covers

This policy describes how the MyAstroWay — Cosmic Tab Chrome extension (the “Extension”) handles information. It is separate from the general privacy policy of the myastroway.com website.

2. Data the Extension collects

None. The Extension does not collect, log, transmit, sell, or share any personal information, browsing history, page content, or selected text. There are no analytics, no telemetry, no tracking pixels, and no third-party scripts.

3. Data the Extension stores locally

The Extension uses chrome.storage.local to remember a single user preference on your device:

• signKey — the zodiac sign you pick from the dropdown on the new tab page (e.g. "leo"), so the same horoscope is shown on future tabs.

This value is a short string. It stays on your device, is not synced to your Google account, and is never sent to any server. You can clear it at any time by removing the extension or by clearing extension storage in Chrome.

4. Text you select on web pages

When you select text on a page and click the floating ✦ badge — or use the right-click menu “✦ Read with MyAstroWay” — the selected text is passed to the Extension’s local JavaScript to generate an astrological reading.

This selected text:

• is processed entirely inside your browser,
• is not sent to any external server,
• is not saved or logged,
• is discarded as soon as the modal is closed.

5. Permissions and why they are used

• contextMenus — to add a single right-click item that appears only when text is selected.
• storage — to remember your chosen zodiac sign locally.
• host permissions (<all_urls>) — so the floating ✦ badge and right-click menu can work on any page you visit. The Extension does not read page content automatically; it only sees text you explicitly select.

6. Network activity

The Extension itself makes no network requests. The only way it can reach the internet is if you choose to click the “Open full natal chart at myastroway.com →” link, which opens our website in a new tab. Once on the website, the website’s own privacy policy applies.

7. Children

The Extension is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.

8. Third parties

The Extension does not share data with any third party because it does not collect data in the first place. There are no advertising networks, no analytics providers, and no external SDKs bundled with the Extension.

9. Changes to this policy

If we materially change how the Extension handles information, we will update this page and bump the effective date above. Continued use of the Extension after such an update means you accept the new policy.
